Topic 1: Contrations She is She’s He is He’s They are They’re
We take two words, take some letters out, put in an apostrophe, and then make them contract into one smaller word. We use an apostrophe ( ‘ ). She is She’s He is He’s They are They’re

Topic 2: There is / There are
We use: There is SINGULAR (1 object) Example: There is one apple. There are PLURAL (2 or more) There are ten apples.

Topic 3: How many are there?
Is asking about quantity. We use the same structure for questions, even the answer is in singular or plural. Tips Read the instructions Count the objects, two times is neccesary Make sure if it is singular or plural. Answer using: There is = SINGULAR / There are = PLURAL

Topic 4: What is she / He doing? What are they doing?
Is asking about the action the subject of the questions is doing. Tips Read the instructions Look the picture and identify the action. Remember: actions end with “-ing”. Use complete answers: Example: What is she doing? (writing) She is writing. / She’s writing.

Topic 5: Irregular plurals
Some words do not end with the “-s” final, and change their written form. Examples: Mouse = Mice Child = Children
