Progress so far: A module has been built at VECC with materials from China Bill and others inspected the system with good signal All measurements were taken so-far between strips Issues: Could not measure timing as the system had problem I-V was reasonable A new setup is made where triggers are taken from scintillator pair Timing measurement is by a CAMAC TDC (25 pico-sec) Charge spectra by using an ORTEC MCA (12bit, 10V) 6/13/2014MTD Workshop, Beijing, 12-13 April, 20122

1.All the raw materials like PCB, honeycomb boards, glasses are cleaned with alcohol. 2. Honeycomb boards and PCB are glued with araldite and kept under pressure. 3. Outer glass having graphite coating is placed on the top of PCB. 4. Fishing lines are placed on it with the help of nylon screws to maintain the uniform separation. 5. Smaller glass plate is placed on the top of the outer glass. 6.Step 4 and 5 is repeated until the assembly is complete. 7.Another PCB pasted with honeycomb board is placed on the top to finish the fabrication. Plan: We are about to build 20 MTD modules Material Procurement status: 1.PCB & Glass : Under Procurement – expected in 3 months 2.Fishing Line : From CERN 3.Graphite : Licron Crystal (resistivity ~ 10-20 MΩ/ ) 4.Gas Box : One is working and another is being made 5.Screws : Can be made locally Possible to use HPTDC based VME modules. Any help (programme/etc.) on this regard will be helpful After procurement, we are planning to finish all the module fabrication and shipment by the end of this year. 6/13/2014MTD Workshop, Beijing, 12-13 April, 201216

Summary and proposal New numbers on efficiency and charge are reasonable Noise is high relative to Tsinghua numbers (low threshold at VECC?) Detailed extraction (after subtraction of scintillator contribution) of time resolution is underway Procurement of materials are in good shape. Proposal: For further detailed testing and validation, we propose to dispatch the system to a MTD centre in USA. This will test our system and we will also learn how to ship the modules. 6/13/2014MTD Workshop, Beijing, 12-13 April, 201217
