EMODnet Chemistry contribution to data publication
5th meeting of the Technical Group on Marine Data (TG DATA) 9-10 November 2017, Copenhagen (DK) Alessandra Giorgetti Dick Schaap OGS MARIS
2
EMODnet Chemistry 3 6/3/2017 - 5/3/2019 Collects data on:
6/3/ /3/2019 Collects data on: In 3 matrices: - water column; - biota; - sediment. Provides standardized harmonized validated data collections and concentration maps of nutrients (NO3, PO4, SiO4, NOx, NH4, Total N, Total P), chlorophyll a and dissolved oxygen. Provides long time series of contaminants concentrations 7/30/2019

Quality assessment for data and products
Data are checked, flagged and completed with metadata by National Collators ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Update the official copy of data Data extraction Regional Regional data collections Feedback loop guarantees data quality upgrade Report errors to the data originators - Data Aggregation - Parameter Homogenization - Unit Conversion (to «umol/l») - Regional Quality Check - Global Analysis Regional buffers Regional a buffers QC data collections 7/30/2019

Integration - interoperability
EMODnet Chemistry provides controlled and synchronized access to regional standardized, aggregated and validated marine chemical datasets EMODnet Chemistry adopts 3 layers of interoperability: formats and vocabs on a technical level (ODIP) QC, flag on a content wise layer (IOC/IODE, including NOAA and ICES) Collection and processing, providing details on instruments and lab tests 7/30/2019

Memorandum of Understanding
The following MoU are discussed to formalise data exchange mechanisms and cooperation: With BSCS and UNEP/MAP (involved as subcontractors) With EEA for thematic report With INFO-RAC for synergy between information systems With CMEMS - Copernicus INSTAC (following data requests from CMEMS-Med-MFC and CMEMS-Baltic-MFC) OSPAR/MCS and ICES for marine litter data exchange 7/30/2019
