2 Background A story about a boy named Christopher with autism
It follows his journey on his way to find out who killed his neighbors dog Written by Mark Haddon who earlier in his life worked with kids with autism.

3 Key Charcters

4 Christopher

5 Ed (Father) He is known to be more controlled with his temper but he does sometimes lose it. He formerly had a better relationship with Christopher than Judy (Mother). He is known to drink and when he comes home he usually drinks a couple of drinks and works a lot.

6 Judy (Mother) She is known to have a very quick temper and gets “cross” with people very easily. She notices that Christopher and Ed have a better relationship than she and Christopher and it makes her jealous. She is gone for 2 years of Christopher’s life. She is thought to be dead Turns out to be alive and had an affair with someone.

7 Siobhan She is Christopher's special teacher that helps him.
She tries to explain things to halp make Christopher make sense of the world

8 Perspective of Book It is written from Christopher's perspective and offers insight into how people with autism view the world.

10 Autism Yellow and Brown
“But Gobi Aloo Sag is yellow, so i put red food coloring into it before I eat it.” Pg. 67. Water “And she jumped backwards and disappeared under the water and I thought a shark had eaten her and I screamed.” Pg. 77.

11 Autism- Overcoming it He was able to overcome parts
“There were lots of people on the train, and i didn't like that, because I don't like lots of people I don’t know and I ate it even more if I am stuck in a room with lots of people i don't know, and a train is like a room and you can't get out of it when it's moving.” Pg. 158. Will never really be able to overcome all of it

He had problems with controlling Cristopher He attempted to overcome them “I cooked his meals. I cleaned his clothes. I looked after him every weekend. I looked after him when he was ill. I took him to the doctor. I worried myself sick every time he wandered off somewhere at night. I went to school every time he got into a fight. And you? What? You wrote him some **** letters.” Pg

14 Mother’s Problems She too had trouble over coming difficulties with Christopher “I'm not like your father. Your father is a much more patient person. He just get on with things and if things upset him he doesn't let it show. But that's not the way I am and there's nothing I can do to change that.” Pg. 106. She ran from the adversity “And it broke my heart, but eventually I decided it would be better for all of us if I went.” Pg. 109.
