Fine prints (2/2) – Steering Group
Project steering groups chaired by Eurostat involve a number of Member States that follow closely ESS.VIPs to ensure that they bring the expected value in the common interest of the ESS as a whole. In this way, Member States provide their views regarding the project content and advise Eurostat on the results achieved. They are expected to promote the successful execution of the project and help keep the project focused towards its objectives. Project steering groups play an important role in ensuring that the project outcomes correspond to Member States' needs and circumstances. They advise Eurostat project managers on the project deliverables. Based on the experience gained in the more advanced ESS.VIPs, the VIG on 13 July 2015 recommended that all ESS.VIPs should on principle have a project steering group.
