UIL Academics Contract
Conroe High School is dedicated to establish the best team possible for UIL Academics. Our goal is to have 20 or more regional qualifiers and to place in the top 2 in UIL team standings. Through your hard work and dedication we can reach these goals. To reach these goals CHS has the following expectations of coaches: Expectations for Coaches Recruit enough students to have a full team. Practice at least one day a week on a weekly basis with your UIL students. Attend the invitational meets. Have students signed up to attend all meets by the appropriate deadline. Attend district meet & facilitate the contest by directing, proctoring or judging. Order & secure all supplies by the time directed by the academic coordinator. Complete all forms and entries required by academic coordinator & CHS by the dates set by the coordinator. Maintain open communication with UIL students and their parents. Demand excellence.

Summer Capital Conference Late June The University of Texas at Austin AT&T Conference Center and Hotel conference Held each summer at The University of Texas at Austin, the UIL Capital Conference offers everything a speech coach, theatre director, academic coach or coordinator—high school or elementary, middle or junior high—needs to know, from eligibility rules to setting up a budget to prose and poetry selections to researching the cross-examination debate resolution. Featuring many of the state's most outstanding and successful academic coaches and coordinators as well as many of the League's state contest directors, the Capital Conference is the most economical and effective way to make certain your school year kicks off on the right foot.

2019 Student Activities Conferences September 7 Tyler Junior College, Tyler September 21 Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi October 26 University of Texas at Arlington November 2 Texas Tech University, Lubbock Pre-registration is not required and there is no fee for attendance. The Conferences begin at 9 a.m. and end by 1:30 p.m. Lectures and demonstrations will be scheduled for all UIL academic contests, including speech and One-Act Play. Conferences feature lectures and presentations by UIL contest directors, college professors and high school teachers. Sessions will include discussions on contest preparation, demonstrations, performances and contest administration.
