1 ARM Posting Generation Walkthrough
Presenter: Victoria Barnett Learning Technology Services University Information Technology Introduction- Welcome, what we are looking at today, brief intro of ARMS (Mario, Ron or Mary maybe?). Note- you have been given slides to help with the process today and so you have something to take away with you. Documentation for this functionality should be available next week. Please leave questions to the end. Process related questions will also be deferred to the end as we are looking at the technical aspect of this functionality currently.

2 CUPE Workflow This is where we are assuming they already know the whole process. Picture one (left) shows the overall process including course assignments. Reiterate here that these MUST be done first, before courses will show up on the workflow page. Then proceed with Creating Master postings and the new process they can use. Also say that the old process still works, but this new process is meant to make the process easier. (More info to come in next few slides).

3 Basic CUPE Posting Workflow
The CUPE posting process starts with creating a master posting. A master posting is a template that contains: course details position details responsibilities qualifications dates notes Master posting info- this is what they are used to and should already know (just a brief summary).

4 Goals Expedite the creation of CUPE postings and reduce the effort of managing CUPE job postings Reduce unnecessary typing and copy/pasting by leveraging content from older existing postings Minimize the number of postings that are created and reduce the amount of single-position postings Accommodate special cases Help standardize posting content Support the consolidation of related* postings where possible *Based on job requirements and qualifications Explain goals. Questions? – the session will explain the process so questions at this point will probably be explained during the session.

5 Why not 100% Automation? No way to reduce number of postings created
No way to override source of posting content Takes control away from ARMS users with non-standard requirements Would likely necessitate a follow-up process whereby ARMS users would need to manually review and remove/consolidate postings Explain- This is why we cannot have everything copied over automatically. Questions- will be explained during session.

6 Three Steps for New Posting Generation
Use the existing CUPE Workflow Contract Position search to find positions that need to be posted and hit the Create Postings button. Review the default content mappings, and make any desired corrections Hit the Generate Postings button Three Steps- these will be explained during the demo. Brief discussion here and say ‘you will be able to follow along on your handouts and watching on the screen.’

Finding Posting Content Find all contract positions that meet the search criteria Find all master postings for each course/position/format from the current and prior fiscal years Default each position to use content from the most recently created master posting, but provide other content options Can also select content from: Department Template: Department-specific content for every combination of position and instructional format
