Fig. 1 A representative point mutation: Sample EH, anti-sense strand, beginning with codon 280 reads: CTC TCT GAC. The accepted sequence is CTC TCT GGC. This G to A transition at codon 282 in the anti-sense strand corresponds to a C to T transition in the sense strand, which results in an arginine to cysteine missense mutation in the p53 protein.
