5 But what about when you are trying to solve a problem and you need a good idea?

YOU’RE IN LUCK, Because in the next 30 minutes, I am going to teach you how to be deliberately creative. Your impatient self will no longer have to wait for your ideas because you will be able to switch your creativity on and off. (We just have to install the switch).

Lets break up into 4 groups

24 So when you or someone else has a new idea… use a tool we like to call PPC (pluses, potentials & concerns) Consider the pluses and potentials of the idea Phrase the concerns as questions (how to…?, how might…?) Overcome concerns by brainstorming solutions © Roger Firestien, PhD

DEFER JUDGMENT Idea and Decision do not have the same definition end beginning I don’t know if you know this, but idea and decision do not have the same definition. All of your ideas are important an idea is just the beginning

28 Defer Judgment But what if you all deferred judgment and this idea ended up sparking a really good idea for someone else?

30 SO GET ALL OF YOUR IDEAS OUT ON PAPER!
Set a quota for yourself. The first ⅓ of ideas are the obvious ones The second ⅓ of ideas are the silly, crazy ones The third ⅓ of ideas are the keepers, the original and refined © Roger Firestien, PhD

Break your habits and see the world in a new way. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Experiment, Fail, Learn. Don’t be a Croc! Build ideas up, not down. Defer judgment.
