1. Revision: Guidelines on post-tenure review
post-tenure review has been and will continue to be a trivial & useless process.
2. Revision: Guidelines on tenure and promotion
almost the same as the old ones, some repetitive statements removed.
We propose one change in the ‘Minimum Criteria for Tenure’:
“A favorable recommendation requires a two-thirds positive vote from the tenured faculty.”
3. Guidelines on teaching evaluations of new faculty
* class visits by the teaching evaluation committee early on
* new faculty encouraged to attend lectures by ‘more experienced’ faculty
* peer mentoring encouraged, when needed (voluntary)
