2 Together we raised more than $25,000 for Nawi Catholic Primary School in Fiji Helping them access power through new solar panels and also new books in their library **Second image covers the word construction AWESOME!

7 In February this year, a very powerful cyclone named Gita made landfall on the islands of Tonga.

8 Children and families were affected in many ways
Children and families were affected in many ways. Homes and school buildings were damaged…

9 … and it was a scary and painful experience

10 Caritas helped those most affected, especially people in need of water and shelter

12 When Cyclone Gita struck Tonga many of the classrooms and buildings at Apifo’ou College lost their roofs… … and the flooding destroyed many resources.

13 There are 1,455 students and 60 teachers at the school

14 Repairs are needed to school buildings.
School was closed immediately after Cyclone Gita and students couldn’t learn. Now many students and teachers learn in classes with tents or tarpaulins for shelter. Repairs are needed to school buildings.

15 New books and resources need to be purchased.
What they need Water damage ruined many text books, blackboards and other stationery supplies. New books and resources need to be purchased.

17 Rebuild the damaged school buildings
All the money we raise together in 2018 will go to Apifo’ou College to help them… Rebuild the damaged school buildings Replace some of the lost resources
