Effective Interview Questions (a few examples)
Good Poor Situational Questions “Tell us about a time when you were given a project with a strict deadline. How did you go about completing it?” Case Study Questions Give the applicant a situation (not too technical) and ask them what they would do in that scenario. Informational Questions “Are you able to work some nights and weekends?” if applicable Long or Compound Questions Often ill-conceived. Don’t lose the applicant halfway through the question. Spend a few minutes identifying how to best ask the question. Generic Questions “What are your strengths and weaknesses?” “Pet” Questions Desert island example
