The middle East is comprised of 23 countries in the Northeast hemisphere.

6. Why do we study the Middle East?
The middle east is an small area of the world with major influences on the rest of the world dating back for thousands of years even to the present time.

7. Important Geographical Aspects of the Middle East
The middle east consists of four main types of land forms
Desert
Steppe
Mediterranean
Humid Subtropical

Group A: With an arid climate what impacts do you think that has on its culture? Why?
Group B: What kind of natural resources do you think the Middle East has? Why?
Group C: What types of natural resources are probably hard to locate in the middle east? Why?

Irrigation: To supply (dry land) with water by means of ditches, pipes, or streams; water artificially
With the scarcity of water many middle east countries rely on irrigation to grow crops.
