Topographic maps Differ from other maps because they show elevations in addition to direction, location and other features.

Topographic Map Features
Contour Lines = lines on a topographic map that indicate the elevation of the land. Same elevation along the entire line. 40 ft Contour Interval = difference in elevation from one contour line to another. 50 ft Contour Interval = 10 ft. 50 ft 40 ft 50 ft 40 ft
