2. Schedule Information All academic classes are in the morning.
Same teacher for English/Social Science
Math/Science
All 6th Grade lockers and classes are in the same area of the school.

3. Schedule Information (cont.)
Electives and Physical Education classes are in the afternoon.
One period is an elective:
Music = Band/Strings/Chorus
Leadership – Must complete an application
Elective Wheel – Subjects vary
ex: Art, Bridge Building, Sign Language,
Science Opportunity.

4. Registration Information
Counselors will be visiting feeder elementary schools in February.
Students will bring home registration forms and information at that time.
Talk to you student about their interests and opportunities.
Registration forms are to be returned to your students elementary school teacher one week after they are sent home.

5. Visiting Los Cerritos
5th grade students will have 3 more opportunities to be on the Los Cerritos campus.

6th grade Orientation Day
The first week of school counselors and staff are walking the halls to help students with their lockers,
finding their classroom and to answer questions.

6. The Counseling Department is:

Assist students to develop personal, social, and educational skills
Develop positive goals for the future.

7. Counseling (cont.) The counselors will provide the following guidance:
Assistance in decision-making.
Assistance in functioning productively within
the school and the family.
Assistance in clarifying personal goals.
Assistance to the students in making appropriate
behavioral changes.
Referral of the student with special needs to
appropriate programs or agencies.
