Answer the conclusion questions about gummy bears on your lab sheet. Refer back to the pictures to help you if necessary.

11 Part II: Egg Osmosis This is a picture of an egg that was first soaked in vinegar to dissolve the shell off to expose the cell membrane. Then it was placed in a 50% sugar solution and a 0% sugar solution. Use the changes in the egg to complete the questions.

A beet was sliced up and placed in two different solutions: One was placed in tap water and the other was placed in saltwater. The beet in tap water felt firm and maintained a dark purple color. The beet in salt water felt soft and had a much lighter color. Use this information to complete the table and answer the questions.

16 Carrot Data Use the following information to complete Part IV of your lab: One carrot was placed in salt water. This carrot felt soft to the touch. One carrot was placed in fresh water. This carrot felt firm to the touch.
