Goals for this week:
Math
We will discuss spending and saving.
I will apply mathematics to problems arising in everyday life.
Reading
We will identify our reading goals and organize our goal clubs.
I will work with my club to achieve my goal.
Writing
We will write introductions/conclusions that capture readers’ attention.
We will use an opinion writing checklist to set goals.
I will use my checklist to edit and revise my work.  
I will review my introduction and conclusion to make sure they are powerful.
Science
We will understand that an insect’s life goes through unique stages.
I will observe and discuss the stages of the butterfly and grasshopper life cycles.
Social Studies
We will review and interpret timelines.
I will create timelines showing the important contributions of historical figures.
Word Work
We will decode words with suffixes, like -ful, -s, -less, and -ly.
I will spell words with suffixes, like -ful, -s, -less, and -ly.
Please allow your child to practice cursive handwriting at home.
