Built heritage/tombs Burren built heritage are remains of structures from the mesolithic, neolithic, iron age & bronze age. The tombs: Portal tombs, wedge tombs,court tombs & passage tombs are burial chambers that were used in the Burren a long time ago. It is not known how these very large stones were moved but it probably involved a combination of wooden rollers and ropes.

Fulachta fiadh: was a cooking site used during the neolithic time
Fulachta fiadh: was a cooking site used during the neolithic time. A rectangular hole was dug in low-lying land where it would quickly fill with water. The meat they were cooking was wrapped in straw and put into the boiling water until it was cooked. A number of the pits survive today as low ‘u’ shaped mounds of soil.
