3 Design Sheet Exemplar This is the quality that your design sheets should meet There is a high number of designs The key points you can see in this exemplar are Good use of colour Detailed annotation Different designs Development of a design

4 Designs Sheet Layout Present a wide range of designs per sheet of A3
This will show the examiner All the different types of designs you have thought of How you have developed ideas

5 Rendered Drawings Draw your designs in good detail
Make sure they are clear and easy to understand Use exploded drawings where detail needs to be shown more clearly Make good use of colour in your drawings Add in rendering techniques to illustrate your materials more clearly Draw the picture in perspective (one point and two point)

6 Dimensioning your Designs
What is the size of your design What are the sizes of the details in your design Comment on your dimensions Are they good / bad Why are they good / bad Do they meet the design specification How could you change them

7 Detailed Descriptions of your Design
What are the functions of your design Are there any special features What is the material you are using in your design Stick in a sample of the material (if possible) What are the good / bad points of your design Show how your design meets / doesn’t meet the design specifications Explain why you intend to develop some ideas and reject others

8 Design Development Using Imagery
Include the image you are taking your influences from Why have you chosen this image to help you Does it relate to the design specification Show in your design where and how the image has been used Reflect on your design, how has the influenced help you and why This design takes its influence from a tall wine glass This second design is influenced by a key

9 Developing a Design Why are you developing this particular design further Show where the design has been developed Explain how it has been developed How and why has it made an improvement

10 Summary A good design sheet includes A wide range of ideas
Relevant design ideas (that meet design specification) Detailed drawing (rendering and in perspective) Dimensions Materials used Use of colour Detailed annotation (thorough analysis of your designs) Developed designs
