Matthew 26:26-30 (NKJV) 26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." 27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. 28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29 But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom." 30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

When It Rains It Pours . . . Job 1:16 (NKJV)
16 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"

When It Rains It Pours . . . Job 1:17 (NKJV)
17 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three bands, raided the camels and took them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"

When It Rains It Pours . . . Job 1:18-19 (NKJV)
18 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house, 19 and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"

When It Rains It Pours . . . Staying Strong When Things Go Wrong
1 When It Rains It Pours . . . Staying Strong When Things Go Wrong Job 1:20-21 (NKJV) 20 Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD."

Staying Strong When Things Go Wrong
3 Staying Strong When Things Go Wrong Our days are full of trouble - Job 14:1 Suffering is a consequence of man’s sin – Gen. 3:19; Rom. 5:12 We are sojourners, pilgrims through a world of trouble – (the troubles of this life should prompt us to seek something better) - Heb 11:13-16; 1 Pet 2:11 We should realize that EVERYTHING in this world is temporary (including its troubles) – 1 John 2:15-17; 2 Cor 4:16-18 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NKJV) 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 1 Peter 2:11 (NKJV) 11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, Romans 5:12 (NKJV) 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned-- Job 14:1 (NKJV) 1 "Man who is born of woman Is of few days and full of trouble.

Staying Strong When Things Go Wrong
4 Staying Strong When Things Go Wrong Where Do We Turn? Many turn to drugs and alcohol - Many turn to sorcery or eastern cults – Many turn to human wisdom and so called science We can find real solutions and peace ONLY when we by faith turn wholly to God! Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Staying Strong When Things Go Wrong
6 Staying Strong When Things Go Wrong Prepare For Storms before they come! – Mat. 7:24-27; Luke 21:36; Enjoy the good times & be thankful! – Eccl. 5:18; James 1:17 Guard against anxiety / worry – Mat. 6:25-34;; 1 Cor. 10:13 Cast our cares upon the Lord for He cares for us! – 1 Pet 5:6-11; Understanding the purpose of trials – James 1:2-16; 5:13-18 Ecclesiastes 5:18 (NKJV) 18 Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage. James 1:2-4 (NKJV) 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. Matthew 7:24-27 (NKJV) 24 "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall." 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Things I Learned That Day
7 Staying Strong When Things Go Wrong Things I Learned That Day I walked a mile with Pleasure, She chattered all the way; But left me none the wiser For all she had to say! I walked a mile with Sorrow, And never a word said she; But, oh, the things I learned that day from her When sorrow walked with me! - Unknown

9 1 Peter 1:3-9 (NKJV) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
19
10 1 Peter 1:3-9 (NKJV) 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

11 1 Peter 1:3-9 (NKJV) 9 receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls.

12 1 Peter 5:6-11 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
22
13 1 Peter 5:6-11 (NKJV) 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
