6TH Graders have 4 options for electives: Art, Band, Choir, Orchestra
Students have their elective class everyday in 6th grade.
Some electives require additional fees and practice time at home.

7. Pre-AP Course Entry Open Enrollment
It is not required for math and science to be paired, but it is highly recommended.
Although enrollment in these courses is open, the following should be considered by student and parents when considering enrollment in these classes.

Students should
Have proven history of academic success in the subject area
Possess interest in the subject area
Consider balance of academic load with outside commitments
Be actively engaged in their own learning, taking responsibility for work load and asking questions when needed.
Possess high quality study skills and time management skills

10. Profile of a Pre-AP Student
Pre-AP courses are designed to challenge students and prepare them for AP courses in high school. AP courses provide an opportunity for college credit while in high school.

At end of first quarter or semester, all students with an average below 70 will be removed from Pre-AP courses.

Students will receive their student home access login information.
In classrooms or the computer lab here at school, students will be guided through the process of selecting their courses for 6th grade. Paper copies of course selection will be sent home for parents to review and make changes.
