2 PROJECT TITLE: ORGANISING WORKERS IN THE BREWERY SECTOR INTO TRADE UNIONS
BACKGROUND INFORMATION The workers in the brewery sector are not organised into any trade union. As a result, their working and living conditions are over the years become deplorable. For instance, wages are low, health and safety standards are poor and workers are often time subjected to mandatory overtime work. These conditions undermine the core values of the ILO and the trade union movement. The trade union movement has a duty to intervene with a view to getting the workers in this domain unionised and have the opportunity to negotiate better terms and condition of employment.

3 GOALS: The project will help the trade union to be able to train its members on the roles and responsible of a trade union member, it will also equip them with the ILO standards. They will also know their rights as trade union members, workers right will not be violated from their workplace. Sensitizing the workers will also give them the opportunity and strength to be able to raise their voice when necessary. Knowing their rights will help them also to know that there is gender equity in the workplace.

5 Monitoring and Evaluation
During the process of the training, the partners will be monitoring the activities which was going and after the completion of the training programme, the partners will the evaluate the project, whether is successfully implemented.

6 Assumptions The positive side of the project is that more workers will joined the trade union movement and they will also been sensitised fully to the training programme. The negative side is that in the event that change of management occurred that can interrupt the programme.

7 Reporting and Accountability
The executive committee will prepare their report and send it to the Secretary General, concerning the training programme. The accounts will prepare their report and will be audited by the auditors. The time frame 3months.
