Adverts target types of people. I also asked you to list some adverts you liked.

This time To examine colours, heading and logos.
To see how adverts convey information.

Pictures Colours Headings, Subheadings – LANGUAGE being used! Logos Captions, (explanations)

What do colours mean? Red – important Blue – relaxing Pink – love
Green – nature Yellow – happiness Black and grey – sadness, sorrow but also power.

Headings Language is very important in adverts for two reasons:
It lets us know what the product is. It encourages us to buy the product. There are two places for words in adverts.

Heading: Name of the product. Big and bold
Subheading: The slogan. Smaller

Headings The name of a product should appeal to the audience. Ask yourself: Is that a strong, cool, or cute name? The slogan should speak directly to the target audience.

Logos In Ancient Greek, logos means ‘opinion’ or ‘expectation’.
Every company has one and now you are about to get one too.

Take the first letter of your name or your entire first name. Write it down either BOLDLY – J Or In Italics – J Then add one of these words Enterprises, Industries, Unlimited, International, Global, Drogheda (other ideas are welcome)

Homework Choose an item you like, that you would like to sell and that you believe other people should buy. Write 5-6 lines arguing why it is good.
