2 Where do Gila monsters live?
Gila monsters Live in the deserts of Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and southwestern California.

3 What is a Gila monsters appearance like?
Some Gila monsters are pink and black, others are orange or yellow. They have strong legs, and heavy claws covered with beadlike scales. all Gila monsters are poisonous.

4 What does a Gila monsters egg look like?
A Gila monsters mother lays 3 up to 12 eggs. She will only lay one batch of eggs per year. A baby Gila monsters’ eggs are soft, and they feel like a feather. Their eggs are 2 inches tall. When they are born they have to survive on their own.

5 What do Gila monsters eat?
Gila monsters eat half of it’s body weight in a single meal. Also they eat animal eggs. It is very hard to find food for a Gila monster. Gila monsters store extra nutrients in their tail as fat.

6 How do Gila monsters defend themselves?
Gila monsters have very strong bites. Once they sink their teeth into something, they don’t let go. A Gila monsters venom is similar to that of a snake called a cobra. The Gila monster’s poison causes pain, bleeding, and weakness. Usually the poison is not strong enough to kill a person, but it can be very painful. A really deep bite that is untreated can kill a person.
