Perform operations on rational & irrational numbers Apply integer exponent properties Write, solve, and graph linear equations Solve systems of linear equations Use functions to model relationships between quantities

Apply the properties of congruence and similarity Apply the Pythagorean Theorem Apply formula for the volume of cylinders, cones, and spheres Analyze data and determine best way to display data

Algebra 1 Honors information
Summer packet – due August 20th accompanied by a quiz Passed out last few days of this year electronically available on Indian trail Homepage Graphing Calculator required – recommended: Texas Instruments 84 (any type) and TI-Nspire (not CAS version) resource – Springboard consumable all HS math courses will be using springboard

Will my child receive high school credit for this course? What does grading look like in algebra 1 honors? Can my child drop algebra 1 honors?

High School Credit FOR Alg I Honors
will earn high school credit. will be on their high school transcript. will Count towards high school grade point average.

What does the grading look like in Algebra I Honors?
will take final examinations at the end of each semester same as those given at the high school. 80% of the grade is a combination of Unit tests, quizzes, practice and homework and 20% of the student grade is the semester final. Students will receive a first and second semester grade. Not Quarter Grades. Will look different in HAC.

Can my child drop Algebra I Honors?
8th grade students enrolled in Algebra I Honors may drop the class any time during the first Semester. If a student drops the class, they will transfer into regular 8th grade math. If a student drops Algebra I honors they will take either Algebra I or Algebra I honors during freshman year.
