Be creative and keep your slides simple – rehearse and talk around themes
Use plenty of blank space and avoid clutter – too much will distract
Don’t copy and paste your talk into your slide presentation – put the details in a hand-out
Focus on one main idea per slide
If you need to include a bullet point list, make it brief and keep the words to a minimum
Use simple charts – provide more detailed versions in your hand-out
A picture paints a thousand words, so use high-quality images and photos – not clip-art or cartoons
Don’t overload slides with colour, sound effects or visual effects such as drop shadows
…and don’t forget to delete this slide before giving your presentation!
