Players are able to customize who they are and roam freely around the world
The goal is to explore the world as much as possible
Some often compare it to MMORPG which some are

3. Pros and Cons Too many choices? Endless decision
Poor Story or even too much story

4. THE MODS You can create mods in almost any open world
This has created jobs where people make mods for a living and profit off of it
Creates an unimaginable amount of opportunity and options

5. Should there be a story? Most open world have a poor story
MMORPGS have story but is always hard to follow
Guild Wars 2 is an Open World MMORPG but has a story with too much content
It usually leads to a lot of farming and has a lack of what is actually the quest and what is a side story
Some side stories may help the main quest but some are just there for no reason
Fighting is more team base and forces a community
Strategy conquers over players that pay too win.
