3 Sender’s address Write your address on the top right-hand side of the page. Do not write your name. The telephone number maybe important. In correspondence, the sender’s address is printed as letter head in the middle of the page. Destination address or inside address Write the address of respondent on the left below your address. If you know the name of the person you are writing to, write it. If you don’t know the name, write the position preceding the address. Salutation If you know the name of the person you are writing to, write it and the salutation should show the name: (Dear + title + last name) Ex. 5 US usage Dear Sir : Gentlemen : Yours truly, Yours sincerely, Sincerely yours, N.B. “Yours truly” is used to express (I’m speaking truthfully to you) when information is being reported. Signature You sign your name by hand above your type-written name with a little and your business title is underneath it.
