2 Are you prepared to give an account for your life?
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil. Are you prepared to give an account for your life?

3 Ecclesiastes 12:9-14 Standing in the Judgment
Our Education – the truth we need. Our Dilemma - the pain the truth brings Our Deliverance – the hope the truth brings

4 Our Education – The Truth We Need
Ecclesiastes 12:9–11 9 Besides being wise, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge, weighing and studying and arranging many proverbs with great care. 10 The Preacher sought to find words of delight, and uprightly he wrote words of truth. 11 The words of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed are the collected sayings; they are given by one Shepherd.

5 Warning from the Preacher
Ecclesiastes 12:12 My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh. Not all “wisdom” is wise.

6 Not all “wisdom” is wise.
Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. Unwise – “Meaning can be found under the sun.”

7 Truth – End of the Matter
Ecclesiastes 12: The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

8 The Duty of Man 1 Peter 4:11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

9 The Duty of God Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.

10 Our Dilemma Romans 3:10–12 10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”

11 Three Kinds of Lawbreakers
Irreligious – Run from God to get what they want under the sun. Religious – Work for God to get what they want under the sun. The Broken – hearts prepared by the law.

12 Our Deliverance Jesus fulfilled the Law – Matthew 5:17
Jesus paid the penalty of the Law – Isaiah 53 Trust Jesus – 2 Corinthians 5:21 Live life under the sun for his glory – Colossians 3:17
