Risk of Death/Heart Failure and Death in CRT-D Patients Stratified According to SDNN T1 (≤93 ms) Versus T2 and T3 (>93 ms) Compared With ICD-Only Patients (A) Cumulative probability of death or heart failure at 4 years was 17% for patients with preserved SD of all normal-to-normal RR intervals (SDNN) (>93 ms) versus 24% in patients receiving cardiac resynchronization therapy with a defibrillator (CRT-D) with low SDNN (≤93 ms) and 23% in patients who received an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) only. (B) CRT-D patients with preserved SDNN (>93 ms) had 5% mortality, whereas CRT-D patients with lower SDNN (≤93 ms) had a higher probability of mortality (13%), similar to patients with an implanted ICD only (10%). T2 and T3 = upper tertiles. Saadia Sherazi et al. JACEP 2015;1:74-80 American College of Cardiology Foundation
