2 What is Connectivity The ability to make and maintain a connection between two or more points in a telecommunications system Based upon neural-network systems

3 Ecological Connectivity
Three major themes: 1) between reefs/islands/habitats 2) among habitats by juvenile and adult fishes and invertebrates 3) between habitats with respect to nutrients and other physio-chemical factors

Ironically, however, few fishes that we associate with estuaries are in fact obligatory users (anadromous fishes are a notable exception)

To address this issue, we investigate "connectivity" in the life cycles of fishes Connectivity here refers to the dependence of fish production and population dynamics on dispersal and migration among multiple habitats

16 Recently, natural tags, such as isotopes and elements within otoliths, have shown great promise as a means of determining connectivity among populations
