Adjectives Are words that describe nouns. E.g: I walked round the old house Give another adjective I walked round the dark house.

2 When we want to compare between two things we use ‘er +than’

4 When we want to compare between three things we use ‘the +adj +est’

5 Ali is as angry as Sami The yellow pencil is
Can we say here the green pencil is longer than the yellow pencil? No , because The yellow pencil is as long as the green pencil. We use as +adj+ as to show that two things are equal. Ali is as angry as Sami

6 Noun + verb to be+ as [adj]as + noun
The yellow pencil is as long as the green pencil.. noun Verb to be As+ adj + as noun Ali is as angry as Sami. Verb to be noun noun As+ adj + as The form: Noun + verb to be+ as [adj]as + noun

7 Use ‘as +adj+ as’ in these sentences
We use as +adj+as to show equality 1-My father /tall/ my mother My father is as tall as my mother. 2-The turtle/ slow/ snail The turtle is as slow as the snail. 3-Sami /fat/Ahmad Sami is as fat as Ahmad

8 Ruba /happy/ Sara Ruba is as happy as Sara. The gray bird / the yellow bird. The gray bird is as small as the yellow bird.

9 Maher is shorter than his brother.
When we want to show the inequality between two things 1- we use “er +than” Maher is shorter than his brother. Maher 2- Or we use the negative form of as +adj+ as = not Maher is not as tall as his brother.

10 The red car is not as new as the orange car .
old new The orange car is newer than the red car. small big The rabbit is not as big as the lion . The rabbit is smaller than the lion. Ali Sami weak strong Ali is not as strong as Sami. Sami is stronger than Ali.

11 consonant /vowel / consonant we double the last consonant.
Spelling: 1- When we add er to the adjectives that end with Y we change y into i The happiest happier happy The funniest funnier Funny The heaviest heavier heavy 2- When we have a word that ends with a consonant /vowel / consonant we double the last consonant. The thinnest thinner thin The fattest fatter fat The biggest bigger big 3-When we add er to the adjectives that end with ‘e’ we only add ‘r’: huge huger large larger

12 Make comparison 1- sweets / unhealthy/cakes.
sweets are as unhealthy as cakes. 2- Bedroom A / tidy/bedroom B. Picture A Picture B Bedroom B is not as tidy as bedroom A. Bedroom A is tidier than bedroom B. 3 1 2 3- Number 3/ funny Number 3 is the funniest.
