In September 2014, CVS Health became the first national retail pharmacy chain to stop selling tobacco products in all of our stores It conflicted with our purpose of helping people on their path to better health Decision to remove tobacco

6 After Removal There was a 4% increase in nicotine patch purchases in those same states during the period immediately following the end of tobacco sales, indicating that there was also a positive effect on attempts to quit smoking. there’s been an additional one percent reduction in cigarette pack sales

9 What Else is CVS doing? Across all of the incentive-based programs, participants were eligible for up to $800 for successfully quitting smoking study participants who enrolled in any of the four incentive-based programs were nearly three times more likely to quit smoking than those who received usual care alone.
