2 Color by Question If your answer to the question is yes, then color in the corresponding space on your person. Hana 5 minutes You have Crayons on the Table

3 Discussion Norms Speak your truth: Say what is immediate relevant and personal as it pertains to the dress code. Accept and expect non-closure: As with many things, the improvement of the dress code to be more equitable and fair is an ongoing process. It cannot be fixed by a single session, or a piece of legislation. Nathan- 1 minute

4 Equity vs. Equality Equity- All students are given the support and resources that they need to achieve the same end goal: college/career readiness. Although the end goal is the same, the process to get there is different for each individual. Nathan- Two minutes

7 Is this easy for parents to understand?
Can this be enforced equitably for all students from all cultural backgrounds and genders? Can this be enforced equitably by all employees from all cultural backgrounds and genders? Is this easy for parents to understand? Is there equitable access to purchase such clothing by all families? We really want you to read this bc we don’t want misconceptions (and BTW) all four of the things before (two finger rule etc) were dree code misconceptions

8 What can I do? Have other students do the Color by Number activity and share with your school principal. Ask that the district dress code is posted publicly as well as consequences so students know their rights. Ask to present to the staff: dress code policy and equitable questions the results of the Color by Number activity Or an idea of your own! Remaining have them read on their own Have them share ideas if there is time :)
