What do you See? By Sapna Patel
2
WHAT? Paradigm- “way we see, understand, and interpret the world” (1)
Kids absorb what they see every day. WHAT do you see: -in a situation (ex. Driver cuts you off) -about yourself -about others WHAT effects these views: Society & Cultural Norms/Conformity Environment Personal experiences Based off role models & what is taught
3
WHY? WHY change what you see?
-Situations/People are not always as they seem -Shifting perspective helps understand the way we can treat others -Children & adults are both shaped by their role models If you knew the situation, would you act & feel differently? If you put yourself in someone else’s shoes, would you feel the same?
4
How? Learn to shift your paradigm by seeing the bigger picture
Apply empathy to understand the situation Assume positive intent Keep an open mind & be that role model Jimmy Kimmel: (until 0:25-0:36)(0:58-1:25) (3:54-4:00)

In Conclusion…. “If you want to make minor changes in your life, work on your behavior. But if you want to make significant, quantum breakthroughs, work on your paradigms.” -Stephen Covey Thank you!
