Why THESE Times, & these feasts?
Secular culture marks “Kairos” time with birthdays, elections, Independence Day, Anniversaries, Super-bowl, Memorials God marks “Kairos” time so the community would corporately worship Him, know His heart, and be alerted to His plans To mark time: God gave us the sun, moon, and stars
4
THE ANSWER TO “WHY THESE TIMES?”
For repetitive expectancy (same “times” yearly) To alert us to increasing cycles of Spiritual significance
5
Why these particular feasts?
1. As a reminder of God’s grace (chesed) over Israel 2. To prophetically point to the future of every person in covenant with Him …With the Spring feasts, to foreshadow Yeshua’s 1st coming as the suffering servant …With the Fall feasts, to foreshadow Yeshua’s 2nd coming as the conquering King

Feast of Yom Teruah: the Festival of Blasting Trumpets
Lev. 23: The Lord said to Moses, 24 “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. On the first day of the seventh month, you are to observe a day of complete rest. It will be an official day for holy assembly, a day commemorated with loud blasts of a trumpet. 25 You must do no ordinary work on that day. Instead, you are to present offerings to the Lord by fire. Is that it? Just blast shofars? Is there deeper significance?

Deeper Significance of yom teruah: remembering god @ mt. sinai (Ex
5 Now then, if you listen closely to My voice, and keep My covenant, then you will be My own treasure from among all people, for all the earth is Mine. 6 So as for you, you will be to Me a kingdom of kohanim and a holy nation.’ …9 Adonai said to Moses, “I am about to come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people will hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.” …11 Be ready for the third day. For on the third day Adonai will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. …13.When the shofar sounds, they may come up to the mountain.”…16 In the morning of the third day, there was thunder and lightning, a thick cloud on the mountain, and the blast of an exceedingly loud shofar. All the people in the camp trembled. 17 Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the lowest part of the mountain. 18 All of Mount Sinai was in smoke, because Adonai had descended upon it in fire. The smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace. The whole mountain quaked greatly. 19 When the sound of the shofar grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him with a thunderous sound. 20 The LORD descended to the top of Mt. Sinai and…Moses went up.

Why didn’t Israel go up sinai with moses?
Because to meet God in his awesome might is frightful for the unfaithful. His /k’vod/, clothed in deafening thunder, lightning, smoke, fire, earthquake, calls attention to your inadequacy and your sin. When God invites you to draw near to him, you must /shuv/, repent You must put yourself at God’s mercy. But you must also TRUST. Isn’t that what Covenant with God means?

Deeper Significance of yom teruah: foreshadow Yeshua’s 2nd coming
When the Shofar blasts for LAST time: …Yeshua will return as a Conquering King …He will take home His covenant bride, Spiritual and Natural Israel …His bride will Tabernacle (Sukkah) with him …Shabbat shalom will be eternal, baruch hashem!

With every moed, God shows he’s on the move, desiring deeper intimacy
...Rescuing Israel with blood-marked door from a spotless lamb …Fire and lightning at Mt. Sinai, seeking His kingdom of priests …As a pillar of Fire and Cloud, in a portable Ark …Clothed in flesh to redeem us with his lifeblood …Empowering us to gather the “harvest” of humankind

Yom Teruah prophesied in 1 Thess. 4:16-17
16 For the Lord Himself shall come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the blast of God’s shofar, and the dead in Messiah shall rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left behind, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air— and so we shall always be with the Lord.
