strategic military HQ
Allied Command Europe (now
called ACO) was founded in ’51
This can be considered the
first NATO Adaptation

There will be 3 different sessions or “traches” over the next 3 years
Trache I is underway and in 2019:
70 new military personnel will arrive at SHAPE HQ (60 for
SHAPE posts and 10 for NCISG posts, also located at SHAPE)
Trache II will be 2020:
64 new military personnel will arrive at SHAPE HQ (w/NCISG)
Trache III will be 2021:
- 61 new military personnel will arrive at SHAPE HQ (w/NCISG)
THERE WILL ALSO BE NEW POSTS AT OTHER ACO
COMMANDS SUCH AS LANDCOM (Izmir), MARCOM
(Northwood) AND AIRCOM (Ramstein), AS WELL AS
LOWER TIER COMMANDS

So what does this mean to you?
It means that there are going to be a lot more soldiers, sailors and
airmen that will require English language courses, such as refresher
courses and, most important of all, a valid (not older than 36 months)
STANAG 6001 certificate.
