Scottish Theorem Proving?
Created in 1997 by Tom Melham – first meeting hosted by St Andrews University STP plays an important role in nurturing PhD students and young researchers STP brings together researchers with a wide spectrum of interests in formal representation and reasoning – from the applied to the theoretical
6
Scottish Theorem Proving?
STP has been around for 21 years – why change the brand and risk losing its following? People not doing “mainstream theorem proving” may not see it as a relevant forum for their work – in particular new researchers and PhD students
7
Scottish Theorem Proving?
Remain with STP Leave STP - possible new names might be: Scottish Verification & Reasoning (SVR) Scottish Automated Representation & Reasoning (SCARR) … Augment STP with a marketing strapline, e.g. STP: A Forum for Representation and Reasoning Research – from the applied to the theoretical Or … Discuss!
