CsA inhibited TGF-β1-induced decreases in E-cadherin expression. A549 cells were treated with 10 ng/mL TGF-β1 for 48 h in the presence of the indicated concentrations of CsA (A) and FK506 (B). Cell lysates were subjected to Western blotting for E-cadherin and β-tubulin. In A, quantitative data for E-cadherin levels are expressed as fold changes from the TGF-β1 response without CsA. Data are means ± S.E. from three independent experiments. In B, a representative blot from three independent experiments is shown. +P<0.05, significantly different from the TGF-β1-alone response.
