Basic Paragraph Form for a Constructed Response: (T-E-E-C)

Topic sentence : specifically address the question/prompt
*Use words from the /prompt question to help you write this sentence. *Be clear and thorough when addressing the prompt. *May need another sentence after the topic sentence to explain more context about the subject/topic.

Evidence: include evidence from real world/life/personal examples and/or text/picture/graph AND an Explanation of that evidence in relation to the prompt.

Evidence and Explanation:
* Use transitions: “For example,” “For instance,” “In particular,” “Specifically,” * Explanation is where you connect the evidence to the topic sentence clearly and thoroughly; never let evidence or examples stand alone.

Closing Sentence/Wrap Up: restate and close main idea of the paragraph.
