What are the highlights (things that stand out) from last class? What was the most interested thing you learned about colonial life? What is something about colonial life that compares to your own life? Be prepared to share with the class!

2 Agenda: Create journal from the perspective of an English journalist who traveled through the colonies. Rough draft Final draft

3 Colonial America Journal Entry
You are an English journalist who has been living in and learning about colonial America in the 1700s. While in America, you kept a journal to record thoughts and impressions of the place, its people, and their cultures. You want your journal to be published so the people of England will better understand what life is like in colonial America. In your journal: Include an appropriate title Write in journal entry format. Each entry should include a date and describe some aspect of colonial life. Be creative and imaginative in explaining how you learned about these aspects of life during your adventurous year in America. Some experiences might be humorous, others sad, others strange. Write for an audience of people who have never been to the colonies and know little about what life is like in America. Include at least 5 aspects of colonial life (5 boxes on your chart) Write at least 1-2 pages.

4 Steps to completing your journal:
Write a rough draft on page 49 of your notebook. Remember that your journal should be 1-2 pages. If you need extra paper, tape it into your notebook so it flips up. Raise your hand to have your rough draft checked. Make sure you have a title, 1-2 pages, journal entry format, and include at least 5 aspects of colonial life. Login to google classroom, click on the “journal entry” assignment, begin your final draft.
