2. Student Activities Committee Plans for 2012
Work with National SAC to implement and promote programs – Helps to connect Student Branches with IEEE nationally
Host a quarterly telecom with Student Branches – Get to know SB issues and advertise upcoming events
Host a Student Paper Contest – Connect SB’s with Region
Host a Leadership Conference – help SB’s understand their roles and opportunities
Support STEP and Mentorship events – Helps connect SB members to IEEE when they graduate
Try to get a stronger tie between Student Branches and local Sections – Connect SB’s with local section and technical chapters 2

3. STEP Event
Run by GOLD - Plan a Branch and GOLD event to introduce local IEEE resources (party or dinner).
Illustrate IEEE member benefits appropriate for young professional members.
Identify recent IEEE Student members who have graduated with an undergraduate or graduate degree;
Help retaining members by capturing any change of address, or other contact information.  3
