2 Paul Manafort Receives 47-Month Sentence in Virginia
On March 7th, a federal judge sentenced Paul Manafort to 47 months in prison for committing tax crimes and bank fraud. Prosecutors and sentencing guidelines had recommended 19 to 25 years in prison. In addition to the prison sentence, Manafort was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine and $24 million in restitution. The sentence has drawn backlash from individuals who claim that the sentence was too light.
