2 A B C D , what do we know about ? So what do we know about and ?
Learner Objective: Students will recognize complementary and supplementary angles and will solve
problems involving complementary and supplementary angles. If , what do we know about ? 1 2 C O W 2 So what do we know about and ? A They are congruent B They add up to C They add up to D B Answer

90-34=56 3 What is the complement of a 34 degree angle?
Learner Objective: Students will recognize complementary and supplementary angles and will solve
problems involving complementary and supplementary angles. We often deal with pairs of angles
which add up to 90. In fact, we even have a special name
for such pairs of angles. 1 2 C O W Definition: Complementary Angles If two angles have a sum of 90, then they are Complementary angles. If two angles are Complementary, then they have a sum of 90. Note: Each angle is called the Complement of the other. 3 What is the complement of a 34 degree angle? 90-34=56

4 A B C D They are both right angles They add up to 180
Learner Objective: Students will recognize complementary and supplementary angles and will solve
problems involving complementary and supplementary angles. 4 So what do we know about and ? A They are both right angles B They add up to 180 C They are congruent D All of these B Answer

180 - 48 = 132 5 What is the supplement of a 48 degree angle?
Learner Objective: Students will recognize complementary and supplementary angles and will solve
problems involving complementary and supplementary angles. We also deal with pairs of angles
which add up to 180. We have a special name for such
pairs of angles. 2 1 Definition: Supplementary Angles If two angles have a sum of 180, then they are Supplementary angles. If two angles are Supplementary, then they have a sum of 180. Note: Each angle is called the Supplement of the other. 5 What is the supplement of a 48 degree angle? = 132
