Michelle Zirnis Child Nutrition Director ` Began Employment with Huntsville City Board of Education on 9 July, 2015 Previously served as Director of Child Nutrition Program(s) at Dickson County Board of Education in Dickson, TN 13 years of experience in K12 Child Nutrition Program(s) and Dietary Sciences Looking forward to increasing student participation rates across the District through improved menu options and enhanced customer service

Child Nutrition Program Review:
From 2010 to 2015, Lunch Program participation remained flat (on a cumulative basis)

Over same period, Breakfast in Classroom (BIC) resulted in a dramatic increase in breakfast participation

Cumulative meal counts increased as result of BIC participation

Program Improvements Fiscal Year 2016
Improved menu options driven by program participation (to include a new ‘grab and go meal’ option) Installation of wireless kiosk cart for high schools (in heavy traffic and/or student drop-off areas) Monthly taste testing and quality control reviews performed by Internal CNP administration Student surveys and enhanced direct student/parent communication through utilization of an application (“App”)

Program Improvements Fiscal Year 2016 (continued) Culinary training classes offered to all program supervisors Model Best in Class Breakfast-in-Classroom and Supper programs across the District. Professionalization of food service operations (to include standard uniforms for kitchen staff) Provide essential resources for all kitchens while maintaining fiscal sustainability and growth
