5
Call to Worship Inspired by Mark 8:27-38
6
Call to Worship (1/4) Leader: We come seeking Christ our King! PEOPLE: And You give us a poor traveling preacher.
7
Call to Worship (2/4) Leader: We come seeking a Messiah Warrior—one who will make us proud and strong in the face of our enemies. PEOPLE: Yet You give us a homeless man, who prays “Forgive us as we forgive” and “Love your enemies!”
8
Call to Worship (3/4) Leader: We come looking for a miracle man, one who will heal all our economic woes and cast out, bail out, our demons of debt. PEOPLE: But You show us a simple carpenter’s boy who asks us to walk through the eye of a needle and give to the poor.
9
Call to Worship (4/4) Leader: We come longing for the truth we want to hear. PEOPLE: And You burn our ears with talk of justice and mercy. Leader: We come seeking what we want… PEOPLE: And You in grace and love give us what we need.
10
Unison Prayer
11
(1/2) Today let us be in your Kingdom ways, great God. Today let us hear your song of grace over broken lives. Today let us taste your justice from the rolling river. Today let us smell your spring garden of mercy.
12
(2/2) Today let us feel your very presence in who we are and what we do as your children. Today let us see your smile in one another. Today let us be in your Kingdom ways, great God.

Exhortation Colossians 3:12-14, NIV
17
(1/2) “As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another and forgive as the Lord forgave you.
18
(2/2) And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
19
Prayer of Confession (To be prayed in unison)
20
(1/2) “Our Father, forgive us for downsizing You in our minds--for thinking small thoughts of You, and for ignoring Your immensity and greatness. Lord Jesus, forgive us when we forget that You rule the nations and our small lives.
21
(2/2) Holy Spirit, we offend You in minimizing Your power and squandering Your gifts. We confess that our blindness to Your glory, O triune God, has resulted in shallow confession, tepid conviction, and only mild repentance. Have mercy upon us. In Jesus' name. AMEN.
