What is Title I? Title I is a federal assistance program for schools. It provides extra funding and support to help students, teachers and families work together, so students can be successful. All Title I schools in Pender County are “Schoolwide” Title I Schools. This means funding is used for the benefit of ALL students.

Families in Title I Schools have rights…
You have the right to Know how your child is progressing throughout the year Know how your school compares to other schools in Pender County and in North Carolina Have input on the school’s compact and parent involvement policy Request information about the qualifications of your child’s teachers Be engaged in educational decisions that affect your child Offer your opinions about school programs by serving on the School Improvement Team, Parent Advisory Council and by responding to surveys and attending school meetings

WE Need YOU! Be engaged in your child’s education by…
Helping with homework Asking teachers how you can help at home or at school Attending parent conferences and other school events Requesting additional help from teachers to help your child succeed Volunteering when you can
