INSTALLATION OF A DRAIN WASTE SYSTEM FOR A SANITARY FACE BASIN Delano Sookram Melanie Padarath Vishmatie Nancoo Sherry-Ann Seemungal
2
WHAT IS A DRAIN WASTE SYSTEM?
A drain waste system is a network of large pipes that take the water used in sinks, toilets, and tubs out of the house.
3
FUNCTIONS OF THE DRAIN WASTE SYSTEM
A drain waste system maintain neutral air pressure in the drains. Allow free flow of water and sewage down drains and through waste pipes by gravity. A P-trap traps the debris that has drained from the sink and prevents it from forming a clog deep within the plumbing system, and to stops sewer gases from passing into the home.

THE PROCEDURES INVOLVED In ASSEMBLING THE DRAIN WASTE SYSTEM
Steps involved in the assembly/installation of a drain waste for a sanitary face basin. Step 1- Sanitary Face Basin in position Step 2-Plumbers mate putty is applied to the drain strainer body. Step 3- Strainer body is then set into the drainage position of the sanitary face basin.
5
Continued PROCEDURES INVOLVED In ASSEMBLING THE DRAIN WASTE SYSTEM
• Step 4- The lock nut is then tightened to the strainer body firmly, using a groove joint pliers and a needle nose pliers. • Step 5- After that the thread seal is wrapped clockwise around the threaded area of the strainer body and then the tail piece is tightened onto it. • Step 6- P trap is attached to the tail piece, adjusting the position or height to align with drain pipe outlet. • Step 7- Coupling nut on the P trap is tightened to the tailpiece. • Step 8- A 90 degree elbow is joined to the outlet fitting, using a short piece of measured pipe and solvent to stick them together
