World Water Day is celebrated every year on 22 March
World Water Day is celebrated every year on 22 March. It is organised to focuse attention on the importance of freshwater. Millions of people in the world do not have enough clean water for their needs. We must also take care of plants and animals. By destroying wetlands (marshes, ponds, deltas of rivers), we destroy natural habitiat of numerous plants and animals.

We went on a trip to Kopački rit Nature Park
We went on a trip to Kopački rit Nature Park.It is also called the European Amazon and it has been protected since 1967 due to its values as a rare ecosystem. It is on the list of Important Bird Areas (IBAs). It is a flatland, situated between the Drava and Danube rivers. In order to protect natural habitat of numerous plants and animals, every human activitiy and intervention is forbidden.

Kopački rit is a home for: - amphibians – 11 species - reptiles – 10 species - mammals – 54 species - birds – 293 species - fish, insects,...

We had a boat ride, a guide talked about Kopački rit and its ecosystem.

Pupils in grade 4 learned about the Adriatic Sea, rivers and lakes in Croatia and made a poster

They also made paintings and drawings and organised an exhibition
