Romans 12:4-5 (NASB77) 4 For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
May be illustrated by a magnet. It not only attracts the particles of iron to itself by the magnetic virtue, but by this virtue it unites them one to another.
Be united with other Christians. A wall with loose bricks is not good. The bricks must be cemented together.

Believers are never told in the Bible to become ONE. We are ONE and we are expected to recognize that, be convinced of it, allow it to influence all our thinking and to act like it.

Acts 2:42-43 (NASB77) 42  And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43  And everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.
It is a peculiar thing that the book of Acts does not highlight great preaching or great charisma of the preachers as the means of the church’s irresistible advance, but the unity of the believers and their devotion to prayer and fellowship and teaching.
Nothing unites people as sharing the same affliction.
Satan attaches far more importance to godly fellowship than we do. Satan always hates Christian fellowship; it is his policy to keep Christians apart. Anything which can divide saints from one another he delights in. Since union is strength, he does his best to promote separation.

12. Humility And Unity
2 Corinthians 10:12 (NASB77) 12  For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.
It is the false-humility of unbelief that says that we are not worth to be joined to Christ and thus to even the greatest among us because Christ himself exceeds all others.

13. Disunity Affects Our Prayers
1 Peter 3:7-8 (NASB77) 7   You husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel, since she is a woman; and grant her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. 8   To sum up, let all be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit;

1 Corinthians 3: I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.
